Subject: Online Japanese Kanji Dictionary
There is a searchable online dictionary at http://www.saiga-jp.com/kanji_dictionary.html
The interface and layout is not so intriguing but it lists all reading and examples with sound files. It also has two types of images available for the characters. One is a non-animated image, but it is in a font that can be used as a model for how your written character should look. The other image you can view is an animated image in the same font with the strokes appearing in order. It doesn't show the strokes being drawn, so you'll need to be aware of that yourself, but it does have the order.
There is also a column for compounds that have special readings. These are called ateji (当て字).
The search function has filters for grade-level, strokes, and radical type.
These extra features (stroke animation, sound files, special readings, search filters) make this a good online database you can use as a reference.
